Meet Your Instructors

Dr. Kumu Michelle Manu, the first and only Woman Knight Commander (Dame) in the Royal Order of Kamehameha I, will lead this historic event. She will teach what it means to awaken and embrace the Koa Wahine (warrior woman) within.

Kumu Manu is a 10th-degree Black Belt, ‘Alihikaua (General), and Kumu Po’okela Lua (master teacher) in the indigenous Hawaiian warrior martial art of Lua (Kaihewalu and Manu lineages).

She is a PhD-level instructor with over 20 years of experience in metaphysical practice, martial/warrior arts, and post-violence counseling.

Experiential Learning: Includes hands-on, experiential modules with high-intensity Lua movement, voice work, pule/prayer, health, Lualomi, and practical life sovereignty exercises.

Safety and Integration: Carefully structured prerequisites, safety protocols (spiritual and physical), and supportive small-group practices ensure immediate impact with lasting deep integration.

Special Guest Kumu Kekuhi Kane Kanahele Kealiʻikanakaʻolehaililani

Kekuhi Kealiʻikanakaʻole is an educator who has trained in the tradition of Hula ʻAihaʻa and Hula Pele, chant and ritual for 39 years under Hālau O Kekuhi, named for her grandmother, Edith Kekuhi Kanakaʻole. She was ritually elevated to the status of Kumu Hula (hula master) of Hālau o Kekuhi by her mother, Kumu Hula Pualani Kanahele, and her aunt, Kumu Hula Nalani Kanakaʻole.

Kumu Kekuhi has co-produced some of Hālau O Kekuhi’s most significant contributions to oral and ritual arts stage performances. 

Most recently Kumu Kekuhi was an actor in Chief of War portraying Kānekapōlei, the mother to the character Keōua Kūʻahuʻula, rival chief of Kamehameha I.
